April 2008

• The 2008 Annual Meeting has been scheduled for Monday, April 28th, 2008 at the WHOA Clubhouse located at 16800 Gower Street. Sign-in begins at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. All homeowners whose WHOA accounts are 'paid in full' are welcome to attend.

• The Spring 2008 Garage Sale is set for Saturday, April 19th, 2008. The sale is held from 7:00 a.m. until Noon at individual homeowner houses. The WHOA will place an ad in the Austin American Statesman announcing the upcoming garage sale. If a participating homeowner wants to post signs for these events to announce his/her sale, the WHOA requires that the signs be removed immediately when the sale is over.

• The Semi-Annual Clean up day sponsored by the Keep Pflugerville Beautiful, ESI, LCRA and Wal Mart is coming Saturday, April 5 from 8:00am to 12 noon. Location: 1201 Railroad Avenue. (Across from Brookhollow Elementary) Last fall's clean-up hauled away a record 21 TONS of trash and refuse from our area!

March 2008

• The Annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 at 2 p.m. in our South Park located at the end of Gower Street. This event is open to the children (ages 10 and under) of Windermere residents in good standing. Volunteers are needed. Please call the management office for more details.

January 2008

• The 5th Annual Holiday Decorations contest was judged during the week of December 17th-21st.

• 2007 Holiday Decorations Contest Winners

• All 2008 Annual Dues invoices have been mailed. Assessments are due by January 31st, 2008. Accounts not paid in full by the due date will be sent to collections. Contact the WHOA office at 251-9462 with questions about your account.

December 2007

• 2008 Annual Assessments will be mailed on December 26, 2007. Contact the management office if you do not receive your statement.
• Fourth Annual Holiday Decorations contest is scheduled for Tuesday, December 18th. To be eligible for the contest, outside decorations must be lighted from 6 pm to 9 pm. (Sorry, previous winners are ineligible.) Winners will receive gift cards of $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place. Good luck to All!!
• Pflugerville takes on Katy in the Class 5A, Division II title game on Saturday, December 22nd at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance (adults-$10, students-$6) Monday thru Thursday at the PHS field house from 8 am to 4 pm. Tickets purchasted at the gate will cost $18.00. Parking is $10.00.

October 2007

• Fall Garage Sale set for Saturday, October 13th, 2007. See Garage Sale page for more information.

• 4th Annual Halloween Spook-A-Rama has been cancelled due to lack of volunteers.

September 2007

• The Austin Pflugerville YMCA will be sponsoring a FREE "End of Summer Party" on Saturday, September 22nd from 10 am to 1 pm. Free food, music and games along with swimming will be provided. Please sure you have your WHOA activity card for admittance. This is the last weekend the pool will be open.

• North Pool closed after September 30, 2007.

August 2007

• The WHOA has rescheduled the Fireworks Display for Saturday, August 4th, starting at approximately 8:30 pm. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to kick off the "National Neighborhood Night Out".

• The National Neighborhood Night Out is Tuesday, August 7th. Please contact the management office if you are planning a neighborhood event.

• Plugerville Schools start Tuesday, August 28th. Windermere Pools will be open on weekends only through Labor Day. North Pool will be opened on weekends only through September 30th.

July 2007

WHOA Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 24th, 7:00 pm at the South Park Clubhouse, 16800 Gower Street. The Command Staff for Travis County Sheriff's Office will be there to discuss neighborhood watch programs, neighborhood safety, and answer questions. The First Annual Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival has been cancelled. For more info, visit www.cityofpflugerville.com.

The Annual Windermere Homeowners Association July 4th Celebration has been postponed due to inclement weather. Please check back for the rescheduled date.

November 2006

• Mayor's Town Hall Meeting--Is rail right for Pflugerville?--Thursday, November 9th, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Pflugerville Justice Center located at 1611 E. Pfennig Lane. Learn the current Central Texas plans and options for Pflugerville. Offer your input on when, where, and why Pflugerville does or does not want rail. Learn the difference between light and commuter rail. Discuss the potential cost and benefits. For more information: Contact City Manager's Office at 990-4363.

October 2006

• The City of Pflugerville notice of public hearings will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006, at 7:00 pm, at the Pflugerville Justice Center Courtroom, 1611 E Pfennig Lane, Pflugerville, Texas. An "open house" describing services that will be provided to the area by the City of Pflugerville will be held prior to each public hearing, beginning at 6:00 pm.

• 3rd Annual Halloween Spook-A-Rama will be held on October 28th, 2006 at the South Park located at the end of Gower Street from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There will be lots of tricks and treats, pumpkin and face painting, temporary tatoos, games, pinatas, and more. Wear a costume and get a prize! (Parents bring your cameras!) All children must be supervised by an adult. Volunteers are greatly needed, so please call the management office at 251-9462 to help out.

August 2006

• Plugerville Schools start Tuesday, August 15th. Windermere pools will be open on weekends only through Labor Day. North Pool will be opened on weekends only through October 1st.

• Pflugerville Emergency Services Appreciation Day is Saturday, August 19th, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church grounds at 801 W. Pecan. It is open to the community and includes free lunch, of ribs, baked beans, corn, roll, drinkd and peach cobbler,provided by Disaster Relief Yellow Hat trained workers. This community event is to recognize Police, Fire, EMS, and more, including have disaster relief volunteers practice cooking for an emergency situation.

An "open house" describing services that will be provided to the area by the City of Pflugerville will be held prior to each public hearing, beginning at 6:00 pm.

June 2006

The Annual Windermere Homeowners Association July 4th Celebration will be held in the WHOA South Park located at 16800 Gower Street. A moonwalk will be provided for young children.

At 6:30 PM, the WHOA will hand out free refreshments (sodas & sno cones) to WHOA members in good standing. Fireworks will begin around 9 PM.

The deed restrictions (§ 3.2) prohibit the private discharge (use) of fireworks everywhere in Windermere. Violators are subject to civil lawsuits. Don't let this happen to you or your kids. Save your money and enjoy the Association's fireworks display in the South Park on July 4th.

May 2006

• The Pool Opening Party is scheduled for May 13th, 2006 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at our North Park located at the corner of Bishopsgate Drive and Tobermory Drive. Hot dogs and sodas will be served until supplies are exhausted. Your WHOA account must be paid in full for you to participate--so bring your activity card to get into the pool!!

• The Park Improvement Committee is hosting a Park Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 28th, 2006 beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the North Park located at the corner of Bishopsgate Drive and Tombermory Drive. Come for a day filled with fresh air, physical activity, and an opportunity to work with your neighbors.
